Summary
The Folsom discovery in 1908 provided evidence of humans being present in America much earlier than previously believed. The Clovis points and Folsom points had differences in their design, with Clovis points having ears at the base for attaching raw hide and Folsom points having thin flutes on either side at the base. Fluting technology was a distinctive North American invention. Both North America and Europe used flint and obsidian for making points. Unlike Western Europe, the Clovis people did not leave behind grand cave art. Their tools were considered their art.
