Coaches are , will find you easily that way , and I think posting your , your everyday life of even what you eat , how you lift , they everything throughout the day , every coach wants to see that you train , stuff like that , it makes it easier for your name to blow up . Northwestern was my number one choice because it had , had really everything . I mean , as playing Big 10 football , um , there's some history of offensive linemen getting drafted high here .
Even if you don't feel like doing it , it's like a need , you need to do it if you want , if you say you have these goals , you need to do this stuff to actually achieve those goals , so . I would say really just , you know , choose your , your further future than like what you want now , um , make a lot of sacrifices for what you want in the in the in the future . If I were to change when I was younger , in my high school career , I would definitely just not be as lazy .
So , I would say really just to have a routine of what I need , what my body needs , and what my mind needs to become the best athlete I could possibly be . Some advice I'll give for younger student athletes trying to go to Division One is . To start early , um , I think my biggest regret as an athlete was , I would think I have to wait till I started to really act like I wanted to go to Division One or wait until I , you know , was better than everyone , but it really starts when you're when you're not , um , you're not just gonna rock it shoot up out of nowhere and become the best .
I will say some challenges I faced where everyone around me really getting the glory and me not really going anywhere , you know , after my junior year of football , I didn't really , I didn't have a single offer , not a single interest , nothing like that . So going into my senior year , I just kept tunnel vision , not look at everyone else around me and stay on my own path to Then eventually blow up and get a lot of offers to where I could finally go to college and , you know . set myself up for a better life .
The motto here really that set with me is both best of both worlds . So I could have an amazing , amazing education and still play Big 10 football . And as soon as I got this offer , it was actually the only offer my mom cried on .
