Hi, my name is Sydney Vitangcol and I play softball at the University of Wisconsin Madison . I would definitely say the best advice that I've gotten from my coaches is to just keep being yourself . Um, the big thing about playing a sport is that so you can have good days and bad days skill-wise, but making sure your personality is always there .

and being a good teammate is the number one reason um to play and just making sure you're supporting one another and growing such a close community is something that's been very repeated by my coaches and it's something that I will take with me after softball because it's good to make connections with the people that you're working with playing with and yeah for me as a pitcher I focus on um making sure I am working on my power and my speed during practice . ractice . I do a lot of drill work with um different power drills off of like one leg um repeated pitching .

Um, it was definitely a great experience and I wouldn't have exchanged it for the world because it allowed me to open so many doors in the state of Wisconsin and put me on a platform that I wouldn't expect to be on . Definitely a challenge that I had was focusing on and putting on putting work in all the time just because as a student in high school and as a teenager, you want to go hang out with your friends and you want to not miss out on homecoming and all these different events . But there was weekends that I was gone and I would miss out on a bunch of things .

And also a big thing is being able to be a good teammate . I have learned so much experience of showing up for my teammates and giving them the support even when it's an off day . Um, and that's such an important piece about the game that I don't think a lot of people do talk about cuz it's a lot of physical and mental game .
