Hi, my name is Sydney Vitangcol and I play softball at the University of Wisconsin Madison . I would definitely say the best advice that I've gotten from my coaches is to just keep being yourself .
And even if you aren't at the skills and level that you want to be at, showing up and putting in that hard work and being a good teammate is such an important piece to it . Hi, my name is Sydney Vitangcol and I play softball at the University of Wisconsin Madison .
Um, the big thing about playing a sport is that so you can have good days and bad days skill-wise, but making sure your personality is always there . and being a good teammate is the number one reason um to play and just making sure you're supporting one another and growing such a close community is something that's been very repeated by my coaches and it's something that I will take with me after softball because it's good to make connections with the people that you're working with playing with and yeah for me as a pitcher I focus on um making sure I am working on my power and my speed during practice . ractice .
I would also say I also work on spin . I am a very big spin pitcher . So working on my rise ball spins, curve ball spins, and making sure those are consistent so that in game they are very just con consistent and making sure that I'm hitting my spots .
Um, and that's such an important piece about the game that I don't think a lot of people do talk about cuz it's a lot of physical and mental game . But I'm making sure you're showing up for your team and being a good teammate will go a long way even outside of softball . And coaches will notice that and it'll get you recruited to schools that you want to go to .
