When considering colleges, it's important to assess not only the athletic opportunities but also the academic resources and programs available. At the University of Michigan, for example, there are excellent academic resources to help student-athletes find a balance, such as access to tutors and support to stay on track. It's also important to maintain a balance between your athletic schedule and academics. Keeping a detailed calendar and starting tasks early can help manage this. Additionally, visiting the campus as a regular student, not just for athletics, can provide valuable insights into the academic programs and overall college experience. Furthermore, it's beneficial to have an idea of your post-college career goals and take these into account when selecting a school. Building relationships with professors by attending office hours and seeking help when needed can also contribute to academic success. Ultimately, finding a college that aligns with your personal interests and needs, both academically and athletically, is crucial. It's important to be prepared to face the challenges of balancing athletic commitments with academic responsibilities and to adapt your mindset to focus on the process rather than just the outcomes.
