When Santa Barbara was rebuilt after the 1925 earthquake and fire , it was really rebuilt to be almost like a movie set . This whole Spanish colonial architecture came out of that , they all have that just beautiful feel that you're 90 minutes from L A but truly a world away and I think that makes it so special . People do sometimes ask the question .

We check out our home base , this stunning hotel . Now Spanish settlers gave Santa Barbara its unique architecture and the hotel California is a shining example . So California is a very special project .

That was the last major earthquake that we had it registered 6.5 on the Richter scale causing an enormous amount of damage to the city of Santa Barbara . The presidio is a Spanish military outpost . It was actually completed in the year 17 82 .
