It's not really hard . Just make sure you stay in school because um when I was a freshman and my teachers was telling me that I wasn't really listening but I wentUCO and I didn't have to go JUCO because I want New Balance National so I couldn't really went anywhere I wanted to um but that had to happen to get to where I'm at so just stay in school , make sure to stay focused , you know , because as a young game like you know we all know how it is , but you got so much , um , you got so much to go get . That's my story . The reason why I picked Youngstown State out of any other school , because my dream school was Kentucky , and I would have loved to go to Ohio State because , you know , that's where I'm from Columbus , and my coach Mike Hartfield , he went to Ohio State , so it was like connect like he got me connected with Ohio State , but I ended up choosing Youngstown State over all those schools mainly because of how the um like tight . The coaches , at least with my longer coach , how tight he is with the athletes and about how it's more than just like sports like , you know , obviously you're going to have bad days or good days , but he's not the type of coach to just , I guess like .

And my indoor season's almost over going into outdoors , so I believe I picked the right school . balancing my academics and my sports career . Definitely since I've been at Youngstown , it's been way easier than it was at my junior college because first off we have a great academic staff like on campus to to manage I guess your time and to help you , you know , succeed .

And then ended up getting a chance to compete at New Balance Nationals , which is like one of like the biggest nationals meet they host for like track and field throughout the whole entire year , and it's like an invitation you got a qualifying mark to go and I ended up winning New Balance Nationals , so that was like a like a big thing going into not making it to states and then going to New Balance and then , you know , winning becoming a New Balance national champion . And I remember around that time a lot of coaches was hitting me up , but um sadly because of how I was slipping up freshman sophomore year of high school , my grades couldn't really , I didn't really have the grades to go D1 and I had no choice but to go JuCA and my first year of my juCA it wasn't really the best and in my second year when I came back I started picking up on stuff and um . I started hanging around the right people and my coaches was definitely getting me right and I ended up landing at Young So State and ever since I've been here , you know , um , it's been going well so .
