Based on the advice shared, here are some key takeaways for student-athletes aspiring to reach the division one level: 1. Prioritize Mental Health: It's important to maintain your mental well-being as a student-athlete. Seeking support and taking care of your mental health should be a top priority. 2. Choose the Right Environment: Look for a program where you are valued and where you can both play and learn from others. Being in an environment that believes in you can be crucial for your development. 3. Avoid Regrets: Make decisions that you won't regret later. This applies to both on and off the court. Choose activities, training, and lifestyle habits that you won't look back on and wish you had done differently. 4. Emphasize Recovery and Nutrition: Pay attention to recovery strategies and nutrition. These aspects play a crucial role in your performance and long-term well-being. 5. Have Fun: It's crucial to enjoy what you're doing. If basketball feels like a burden instead of a passion, it may be time to reassess your approach. 6. Prioritize Healthy Eating: Stay away from fast food and prioritize nutrition over temporary happiness, as it can have lasting effects on your health and performance. 7. Remember the Love for the Game: Basketball is basketball, regardless of the level you're playing at. Always keep in mind the joy and love for the sport as you pursue your ambitions.

It really means so much to me because I've never experienced that before and I always wanted to be a role model in women's basketball because I have been through challenges and experiences and I always wanted to get my story out there to look out for the younger version of myself basically and then just the younger uh generation . Advice I would give to a student athlete trying to get to the division one level is make sure you maintain your mental health first and foremost . it's important and if anybody tells you it's not important, it's about basketball, they're wrong .
