I play beach volleyball at USC and I'm from Austin , Texas . There's many pieces of really good advice I've been given over time , but probably my favorite one that stuck with me the most , especially through college , is that progress isn't linear . And everything is kind of just a stepping stone towards your goal .
I think it's still really important to push yourself outside of that box and even in practices challenging yourself to maybe . Something you're not good at because that's the only way you can get better so I think yeah just overall really being open to what other people are saying , being open to feedback like being open to almost criticizing yourself if you're watching a film like see and know when OK maybe that wasn't the right move . I'm gonna try this next time I get back out there .
It's our off season , so I'm going to be really focused on . The technical play and more of the development and again that progress rather than the end result because if I stick to the process , focus on the technique then ultimately the result's going to come . There's a lot of challenges through all of athletics , I think .
Um , USC is such a special program because we've won so many in the past for the years that beach volleyball has been an NCAA sport , and we train hard , we're ready to go after it and so yeah , that's my goal especially is to be as good as I possibly can be for my team , um , to give everyone the opportunity of winning that national title because . The work comes from everyone and you can't have some outliers while the rest of the team is focused on the central goal . So yeah , I think coming into this next season just kind of all gas and going for every opportunity and really just pushing myself to be the best possible person and .
So I think NIL and building your brand is a very important thing to use because you can show everyone around you not only who you are as an athlete but who you are as a person and how that . As a whole contributes to how you play and what you play for and I think it's just really important for the world really to know you outside of the judgments they make about you overall whether it's recruiting , whether it's training is just really be open like be open to any sort of constructive criticism be open to taking your chances even if something scary and seems like a jump like be open . And kind of just go for it because you never know where things are going to take you and if you really push yourself outside of your comfort zone that's where you're going to have the most growth .
