We have almost 6 million fossils and specimens in our collection . The Lorea Tar Pits are the only place like it in the world . In fact , we just got an International Union of Geological Sciences designation is one of the 1st 100 geological heritage sites .
Oh , I see the bubble there . There's a variety of things you can do at the tar pits , but you definitely want to come inside see what we call the fish bowl where you can watch scientists and volunteers cleaning the fossils . This is Stephanie , our lab prepared .
