Uh , of course injuries were always in the way , stuff like that , but for me it was always just staying true , staying healthy , and , uh , finding a way to get the scholarship out of it . As far as the recruitment process goes and how I ended up in the Division One school , uh , it was a different time . Uh , COVID just started at the end of my junior year , and that's when scholarships happened for track athletes .
Uh , COVID just started at the end of my junior year , and that's when scholarships happened for track athletes . You run a fast track time , they start giving you money , you sign , you have your senior year to kind of train and show them what you can do . For me , I didn't get a track season .
I had no right to be on that team . I was never going to get a chance on that team , but there will be the right coach that will find you , and they'll be happy to hear from you . All these coaches will be happy to hear from you .
Just worry about yourself for now . Do what you can do to make sure you're the best athlete and uh reach out to as many coaches as possible . As soon as you are old enough for them to respond back , in your junior year now , uh , send 5 or 6 emails a week .
I was never going to get a chance on that team , but there will be the right coach that will find you , and they'll be happy to hear from you . All these coaches will be happy to hear from you . So open a dialogue , find a good program , and get to where you need to be .
