Um , some of my teammates , uh , that got hurt , I failed in their position which gave me even more opportunity , um , for me to become the star player for my team , and I was blessed to have a , have a couple D1 offers to school even in the midst of COVID where they didn't know what was gonna happen if what players were returning , what players were leaving and stuff like that . So what led me to come to Youngstown transferring from the University of Southern Mississippi was one we was losing and I don't like losing . Coming out of high school , I was just a mainly offensive player and when I got to USM , I played one year offense at receiver and they switched me over to defense , which at the time I wasn't really happy about but I still gave it a shot and after .
And um uh my senior year came around and that was during COVID and I still didn't have any offers so I know I had to work really hard for my last year and I pushed myself throughout the summer throughout COVID when there wasn't nothing else to do but to train so I used that time and took it to my advantage and I trained hard , got ready for the season . And things went down , pieces failed .
They can look to me and I'm a pretty chill person , so I feel like I can help and influence people in the right way and in a positive way . So away from football I like to do a lot of content creation . Um , my dream job is to be a content creator .
So I had put in a lot of work , put in a lot of time after hours , um , took recovery very seriously , eating habits , um , created a routine of my life , and that just brought me to where I'm at today . Yeah , so the recruitment process was it started for me probably in the 10th grade . Um , I started from 10th grade on up in high school .
People would just see it and not like be like oh this is this company please advertise this this is more chill and this hope that people would ask about it rather than me of what's not about it . Some advice that I would give players that's trying to go D1 is to . Network and work hard you have to make yourself different from everyone else because there's a lot of good players in the country that's doing the same thing as you're doing , but what's gonna set you apart ?
