You know , with your sport and everything . Yes , I did actually have mental health challenges . COVID was really hard for me personally as an individual .
All right , stand by while I have you here . Um , I wanna know , uh , mental health challenges , you know , what mental , did you have any mental health challenges , uh , during your high school , um , that you had to struggle through to , uh . You know , with your sport and everything .
COVID was really hard for me personally as an individual . I struggled with depression , and it brought me down into this kind of pit where I felt like I couldn't get out . And Even so , like it affected my performance .
Because COVID happened and um when I was a freshman and sophomore , I wasn't . Mentally and also in the space to think that I was able to compete at the collegiate level . It was like a junior year that I was like , oh my goodness , this is something I want to do .
I'm a Christian and it is because of that that I was able to get out of that depression . And even if you aren't religious , just having faith in yourself and believing in yourself and really talking to other people about what you're going through , I know it's hard . When I was depressed , I didn't want to tell other people how I felt because you don't even know how you feel a lot of times , but talking to other people and being open about what you're experiencing can help a lot and help lift a weight off your shoulders .
